Our BSSW marketing committee have curated the following toolkit to support practitioners and advocates with promoting 2026 Black Student Success Week activities. The toolkit will include a wealth of promotional items including a digital flyer, social media assets, a Zoom background, website buttons/registration banners, a PowerPoint deck and more. Marketing assets will continue to be added to the toolkit in the months leading up to Black Student Success Week. All California Community Colleges are welcomed and encouraged to utilize the toolkit to help promote this year's Black Student Success Week.
Additionally, the BSSW marketing committee has created a co-branded version of this year's Black Student Success Week registration flyer. This editable version allows colleges and organizations to include their logo alongisde the Black Student Success Week logo, signifying their partnership and support of this annual event. Our BSSW planning committee members have curated a comprehensive Practitioners Programming Toolkit that acts as your initial blueprint for action. These resources cover many events, from panels discussing remote learning challenges to financial literacy and entrepreneurship workshops. The toolkit also includes crucial focus areas like Advocacy Day activities, Department of Labor initiatives, and strategies to diversify faculty ranks.
The California Community Colleges offer many on-campus resources and support services to help students reach their academic goals. Learn more about the available programs and services, including Umoja, A2MEND, Pipeline 2 Possibilities, Black Student Unions and NANDI. Students can find many Black-led and created student organizations and clubs on community college campuses. Every campus has different groups, though, so students should check with their local college.
A2MEND
A²MEND provides an affirming environment where African American students are able to thrive, especially male students and other men of color. A²MEND charters at California community college campuses provide educational, cultural, social, and intellectual programs that promote positivity and brotherhood among its members.
Pipeline 2 Possibilities
The Pipelines to Possibilities Program (P2P) offers a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) graduate internship program designed to develop an intentional faculty pipeline within the California Community College Districts. Through proactive recruitment, hiring, and retention of diverse tenured faculty, P2P aims to diminish equity gaps and meet the needs of diverse student populations to improve student success.
NANDI
Nandi was a warrior, resilient, and devoted leader. She believed in the power of unity and the concept of We are the same. Nandi was a Queen and mother of a King.
The Nandi Organization is a non-profit organization on a mission to serve, support, and empower Black women in the community college system. Through professional development programs, mentorship, scholarship, research and advocacy, Nandi provides our expertise to California Community Colleges to help ensure the success of Black women professionals and students.
